Breakthrough students are from public middle schools in the Fort Worth Independent School District.  We serve high-potential students from backgrounds with otherwise limited educational opportunities.  Students make a six-year commitment to Breakthrough participation and a lifetime commitment to excellence.

"I have realized that with just a little bit of faith, one can do great things.  In the classroom, if you just believe in your students, they will respond accordingly."  - Eric, Morehouse College, class of 2011

Currently seeking:
  • after-school tutors (email Alessandra at acarrasco.org)

Breakthrough Fort Worth is part of Breakthrough Collaborative, a national non-profit that increases educational opportunity for high-potential, low-income middle school students and inspires outstanding college and high school students to pursue careers in education.

Breakthrough students participate fully in a six-year, year-round academically intense enrichment program. There are three major components to the Breakthrough experience:

1. Summer Program at FWCD in seventh, eighth, and ninth grade,
2. School Year Program during seventh and eighth grade,
3. Alumni Program participation during their high school years.
