FWCD Goes Hollywood for Carnival 2007 |
 |
 |
FWCD is headin’ to Hollywood Oct. 12 for Carnival! There will be lots of great games, food and activities for lower and middle school students and their families! Co-chairs Andrea Jacobson and Sharon Crockett and a host of volunteers has been planning this event for months, and you don't want to miss it. The Carnival will take place from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 at Rosacker Field, and the paparazzi will be looking for you!
The old favorites will be there, such as Laser Tag, Putt Putt, All Star Pitching and the Wheel of Fortune, as well as inflatables such as the Giant Slide, Bungee Run and High Striker. In addition, traditional favorites such as Ping Pong Fishy, Lollipop Tree and Duck Pond will vie for your little ones’ attention. And don’t miss the Cheer booth, where FWCDS’ very own Middle School Cheerleaders will be on hand to teach cheers and technique!
Delicious Carnival food, including hamburgers, Pulido’s, cotton candy and Dip ’n Dots will satisfy even the strongest hunger cravings. And don’t forget to stop by the Photo Button booth for your commemorative button of this year’s Carnival!
Volunteers are still needed. Parents and students may contact Melanie Towle at melanietowle@sbcglobal.net or Karen Rekieta at kenrek@aol.com. Come join the fun!

Feed and Clothe Your Family AND Benefit FWCD! |
 |
 |
As you head off to the grocery store, don't forget to take along your store "reward" cards that put money in the coffers of Fort Worth Country Day! At no cost to you, you can help add more than $25,000 to support activities and programs that benefit all students. And it’s not just parents, faculty and staff who can earn money on this program. Spread the word to your family and friends who already shop at these fine stores.
The following is a list of stores who currently "give back" to Fort Worth Country Day when you shop there and use the card:
Central Market
Pick up your Central Market card in the Administration Building and use it every time you shop at this Foodie Paradise - including Burgers & Bock and Cafe on the Run! Just hand your card to the cashier before he/she rings up your order - it's that easy! In the fiscal year just ended June 30, FWCD received $23,352.44.
Tom Thumb
If you have a Reward Card, you're halfway there! Go to the Customer Service Desk and tell them you want to participate in the Good Neighbor Program to benefit Fort Worth Country Day. You'll fill out a brief form, enter the school’s name and ID# 1935, and your groceries will start adding money to the FWCD bank account. (A card with our ID # is available in the Administration Building.) And don't worry - you'll still benefit from the savings of using your Reward Card each time you shop! You don’t have a Reward Card? The Customer Service Desk at Tom Thumb can set you up with one and connect you to the Good Neighbor program at the same time. In this past fiscal year, we earned $4,260.24 from the Tom Thumb Good Neighbor program.
Albertsons
Take your Preferred Card and our 11-digit code: (49000100943) to the Customer Service Desk at your local Albertsons store and have your card linked. FWCD will start earning a percentage of what you spend on your groceries. (If you lose this paper, a card with the 11-digit code is available in the Administration Building.) If you don't have a Preferred Card, the Customer Service Desk or a cashier can get that going for you and sign you up for the Community Partners program at the same time. And you’ll still reap all the savings from using your Preferred Card. For this fiscal year, we have earned $1,022.56.
Target's Take Charge of Education
If you have a Target VISA or Target store card, FWCD will earn 1 percent of the purchases you make. Your card must be connected to FWCD for us to receive this donation. Check with Target's Customer Service Department if you have any questions. This year FWCD received $1,154.28 from Target.
Land's End Uniforms
Whenever you purchase uniform items from Land's End, use your FWCD code (9000-76373) and 3 percent of your order will be donated to the school. Land's End blue and white Oxford shirts (long- and short-sleeved), khaki and navy shorts and pants, and plain sweatshirts meet FWCD uniform requirements, and you will provide cash back to the school. If you don't have your FWCD code when you place your order, the sales reps will look it up for you. Call 1-800-741-6311 to place your order. So far this year, FWCD has received $50.76 from the Land's End program.
To find out more about these great (and easy!) ways to earn money for FWCD, contact Nancy Conway, Community Partners Chair, at drjconway@sbcglobal.net or Holly Ellman, PFA Liaison, at hellman@fwcds.org.
