We also very excited about our Falcon Club. The Falcon Club has been designed to be a support group and a sounding board for the athletic program. The guiding principle behind the Falcon Club is one of participation. We hope that everyone will not only join the club but also get involved in the various activities offered throughout the year. You can find more information on the Falcon Club on their section of this website.
Each year our staff will develop several “points of emphasis’ for our program for the coming year. These areas of concentration are useful tools in the development of goals and objectives for our athletic program. Listed below are the points of emphasis for the school year:
Continued implementation and evaluation of the sports requirement and other policies and procedures relative to the operation of the department. All policies and procedures will be clearly articulated with appropriate accountability. We will strive to make sure every member of the school community is informed of and understands all requirements and policies.
Developmental stages of competition will become an integral component of developing our program with the objective of teaching competition and in appropriate stages.
The full utilization of the Program Director concept with each Program Director to begin the work of developing a curriculum of instruction for all levels.
Seek a variety of ways to offer additional instructional opportunities for our students at all grade levels. Our greatest strength is the fact that the majority of our students are members of the school community for many years.
Recruitment, development, evaluation and retention of qualified coaches.
Professional development opportunities that will include an introductory course for new coaches, on campus and off-campus in-services, goal setting and coaching evaluations to continue building a high standard of professionalism.
Development of vehicles to solicit appropriate student input into various aspects of the athletic program.
Parent education and communication as a positive tool in developing partnerships in the athletic environment.
