The FWCD community welcomes the opportunity for you to visit our campus and take part in the day-to-day dynamics that make our school unique. Students, faculty, staff, parents and alumni are eager to share their experiences and help you to see what Country Day could mean to your family.
We encourage all prospective parents and students interested in applying to FWCD to attend one or more Admissions Events scheduled throughout the fall and winter.
Prospective Kindergarten Parent Coffees
Butler Kindergarten Building
Tuesday and Wednesday, October 16 and 17, 2007
9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Everything you need to know really does begin in Kindergarten! These morning coffees begin with a seated program in the Kindergarten Commons. Prospective parents will have the opportunity to meet and hear from our Head of School, Lower School Division Head and Director of Admissions. You will also have the opportunity to meet our Kindergarten Teachers and learn about our full-day Kindergarten Program. What is it that makes FWCD such a special place to grow and learn? How does the admissions process work? When can my child come and see the school? Can I come for an individual tour or appointment? We will cover it all. Following the seated portion of the program you will be able to observe our teachers and students in the Kindergarten Classrooms – in action! For those interested in touring the campus, a group tour will be available after 11:15 a.m.
You may RSVP at yespinoza@fwcds.org or by calling 817-302-3209. Reservations are not necessary, but we would love to know if you are planning on attending.

Required Student Visits
Kindergarten Group Visitation
In addition to the individual assessment, all applicants for Kindergarten must participate in one of four group visitation sessions at FWCD. After we receive your application, we will call you to schedule your child’s visitation. During the 90-minute group visit, applicants will rotate in small groups for a story time and to practice good work with our Kindergarten and First Grade Teachers. Parents are asked to remain in the Kindergarten Commons and participate in a hands-on information session with the Head of School, Lower School Division Head and the Director of Admissions. The Group Visitation dates this year are:
Kindergarten Early Decision Applicants
January 14 or 15, 1:00- 2:30 p.m.
New Family Kindergarten Applicants
January 26 or February 9, 9:00-10:30 a.m.
Classroom Visitations for Grades 1-4 Applicants
Grades 1-4 are not entry points for the school and openings are limited to attrition only. Out of town applicants are welcome to visit for 2-3 hours if they are not available to test at FWCD on March 29, 2008. After enrollment is offered, we encourage applicants to come for a visit and meet prospective classmates.
Campus Visits and Interviews for Grades 5-12 Applicants
All applicants for Grades 5-12 are required to schedule a half-day visit and complete a personal interview with a member of the admissions staff. Middle and Upper School day visits should be scheduled no earlier than October 1, 2007 and no later than March 28, 2008.
