Application Checklist, Application Form, and Application Fee
Our K-12 application is available online to complete and submit or as a downloadable document. Parents should complete the application and submit the non-refundable $75 application fee. An optional photograph of the applicant may be sent separately, but please do not delay your application by having a special photograph taken.

FWCD cooperates with three other independent schools – All Saints' Episcopal School, Fort Worth Academy, and Trinity Valley School – in sharing joint admission policies, calendar, testing and notification dates. To be considered for admission at any other school, candidates must also file applications with those schools. Except under special circumstances determined by the test administrators, results are not valid if a test is administered to the student more than once within a given year.  Click here if you would like to apply online.

Testing
Evaluation of Kindergarten applicants consists of three parts: a readiness and preschool teacher recommendation, age-appropriate assessment which may be administered at any of the other independent schools we share testing with, and a classroom visitation on the FWCD campus. Once an application is received, the Admissions Office will contact the applicant's family to schedule these appointments for January or early February. Kindergarten candidates must be 5 years of age by July 31st to apply for August enrollment.

Kindergarten Group Visitation
In addition to the individual assessment, all applicants for Kindergarten must participate in one of four group visitation sessions at FWCD. After we receive your application, we will call you to schedule your child’s visitation. During the 90-minute group visit, applicants will rotate in small groups for a story time and to practice good work with our Kindergarten and First Grade Teachers. Parents are asked to remain in the Kindergarten Commons and participate in a hands-on information session with the Head of School, Lower School Division Head and the Director of Admissions. The Group Visitation dates this year are:

    Early Decision Kindergarten Applicants
   January 14 or 15, 1:00- 2:30 p.m.

    New Family Kindergarten Applicants
    January 26 or February 9, 9:00-10:30 a.m.

Preschool Recommendations
Beginning in December, the preschool teacher recommendation will be mailed to the child’s preschool and returned directly to FWCD.

All admissions notifications are sent by mail on the following dates with an enrollment deposit due shortly thereafter:
